Bookmarking in Firefox

You have found a website that you want to view later but scared that you nay forget the address of the website. Then bookmarking is what you need to do in order to save and organize any website so that you can revisit the site again. In the following tutorial you will learn how to add bookmarks to Firefox.

To add a bookmark

  • First of all you need to click the star in the address bar in order to save the current page as a bookmark. The new bookmarks are saved to Other Bookmarks folder by default.
  • In the menu that ill pop up you can select a different name or folder for this bookmark. Now you need to click the Folder drop-down menu and the select Choose to select different folder for bookmark. When you are done click on Done.

Using bookmarks

Once you have bookmarked a website there are different ways to open the bookmarks.

The Bookmark button: Click on the Bookmark button in order to see all of your bookmarks. You can hover the mouse over other Bookmarks in order to access any bookmarks that you have saved recently.

The Address Bar: As you will begin tyoing in the address bar, any bookmarks matching the text will appear with the star icon. You need to click a bookmark to open it.

The Bookmark toolbar: If there are some sites that you access frequently, you can sabe them to the Bookmarks toolbar folder for instant access. Now click the bookmarks button, hover the mouse over the Bookmarks toolbar and then click View Bookmarks Toolbar to turn on the toolbar.

Creating a folder

You can add new folders to the bookmark Toolbar folder, the Bookmark menu folder or the Other Bookmarks folder.

  • Click on the Bookmark button and after that select Show All Bookmarks.
  • A Library will appear in new window with all of your bookmarks. You need to select desired location for the folder.
  • Now click Organize and select New Folder.
  • You will notice that a dialog box will appear. You need to enter a name for the folder. You can also add description. When it is completed click Add.
  • With this the folder will be created.

Browsing in Edge

Edge is a browser from Microsoft which makes the browsing of web very easy and quick. Inthis tutorial you will talk about navigating to websites in Edge.

To Navigate to a Website

  • In Edge browser you can use the address bar for navigating to other websites and for coducting the web searches.
  • In order to naviagte to a website you need to type a web address into the adress bar and after that press Enter.
  • In order to conduct a web search you need to type a search term into the address bar. A lost of the possible search terms will appear.
  • Now press Enter to search or select a suggestion.

Navigating in Edge

  • Edge uses three different buttons for navigation which are Back, Forward and Refresh buttons.
  • The Back and Forward buttons lets you to move through pages you have viewed recently.
  • The Refresh button will reload the current page. If a website stops working you can try using the Refresh button. If the webpage does not load correctly it will temporarily become Stop button which you can click to stop a webpage from loading.

Windows and Tabs:

Just like all the browsers, Edge lets you open the new windows to view different pages. In addition Edge lets you open multiple websites in same window by using tabs. Tabs are more convenient than opening several windows simultaneously.

To Open a new Window:

  • First of all click the More button and then select New window. You can also press Ctrl+N on your keyboard.
  • After this a new window will appear.

To Open a new tab:

  • First of all click the New tab button next to current open tab. You can also press Ctrl+T on your keyboard.
  • A new tab will appear. You need to type an address and then press Enter to navigate to a new page.
  • The page will appear in the new tab.

Switching between Tabs:

  • First of all click any tab that is not currently selected.
  • The tab will be selected.

Closing a Tab:

  • In order to close a tab you need to click the X located on the right side of the tab. You can also press Ctrl+W on your keyboard to close current tab.

Opening a Link in new Tab:

For opening a link in new tab follow these steps.

  • Right click on the link which you need to open and after that select Open in new tab from the drop-down menu.
  • The website will open in the new tab.
  • Now click on the tab to view the website.

Inserting Videos in MS PowerPoint

MS PowerPoint lets you insert the video onto your slide and then play it during your presentation. With this you can make your presentation engaging as well as impressive. The videos can be edited within PowerPoint and can customize it’s appearance.

Insert a video from a file:

With the following steps you will be able to insert a video from a file

  • First of all you meed to click the Video drop down arrow from Insert tab. After this you need to select Video on My PC.
  • Now locate and then select the desired video file and after that click Insert.
  • The video will be added to the slide.

To Insert an Online Video:

There are many online video portals like YouTube that allows you to embed videos into your slides. An embedded video will be hosted on its original website which means the video itself will not be added to your file. With embedding you can reduce the file suze of your presentation but youa re requried to be connected with the Internet for the video to play.

Working with the videos

To preview a video:

  • First of all click on a video in order to select it.
  • Now click the Play/Pause button below the video. The video will begin playing and the timeline which is next to the Play/Pause button will start advancing.
  • In order to jump to a different part of the video you need to click anywhere on the timeline.

To Resize a Video:

  • First of all click and drag the corner sizing handles until the video is of desired size.

To Move a Video

  • For moving a video you need to click and drag to move a video to anew location on a slide.

To Delete a Video

  • For deleting a video you need to select the video you want to delete and then press Backspace or delete key on your keyboard.

Editing and Formatting Videos

To trim a video

  • First of all you need to select the video and then click the Playback tab on the Ribbon.
  • Now click the Trim Video command.
  • Now a dialog box will appear. You need to use the green handle to set the start time and the red handle to set the end time.
  • To preview the video you are required t click the Play button.
  • When you have completed the trimming process on the video click OK.

Add a Fade in Fade out:

  • Locate the Fade In: and Fade Out: fields on the Playback tab.
  • Now you need to type the desired values or use the up and down arrows in order to adjust the fade times.

To Add a Bookmark

  • First of all click the timeline to locate the desired part of the video.
  • Now from the Playback tab you need to click the Add Bookmark command.
  • The bookmark will appear on the timeline. Now click the bookmark to jump to that location.
